Time flies if you are having a great time and when you are with the one you love. As the years pass, perhaps your anniversaries commence to sneak on you, with you and your loved one seemingly always finding yourself heading out to dinner again. Or possibly the big day comes and goes, and you don't do anything more because you are on a tight budget and can't think of something to do that is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a trip to your wine country sounds perfect; but could it be worth refinancing your property and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the afternoon faraway from work, turn off the cell phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your busy everyday lives. Celebrate your daily life together because that is what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If this is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If this really is your 10th anniversary, offer a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Create a game from it, and see who are able to come up with the most creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For each anniversary year, you can find traditional gifts as you are able to give. For instance, the gift for the initial year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your partner stationery you have customized, a book, a love letter, or anything else associated with paper. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful. There's also a modern anniversary gift for every single year. For example, for the fourth anniversary, the present day gift is appliances, which is actually a lot cheaper than the usual pricey piece of technology. If you're enthusiastic about what these gifts are, this is a handy set of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I am not sure where it is. But what's the idea of experiencing a video made if you should be not going to view it? Your anniversary is a good opportunity to keep in mind that special day, so take out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If you do not have one, perhaps you have a movie of a secondary you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look throughout your wedding album or pictures that you have got throughout your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you should be feeling only a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, such as a photo album or scrapbook of the last year's events.
