Time flies if you are having a good time and if you are with the one you love. While the years go by, perhaps your anniversaries commence to sneak through to you, with you and your cherished one seemingly always ending up going out to dinner again. Or possibly the big day comes and goes, and you do not do some thing because you are on a tight budget and can't consider something to do that is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a trip to the wine country sounds perfect; but is it worth refinancing your house and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the afternoon faraway from work, turn off the cell phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your busy everyday lives. Celebrate your daily life together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If that is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If that is your 10th anniversary, give a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Make a game from it, and see who can show up with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For each anniversary year, you can find traditional gifts as possible give. For instance, the gift for the initial year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your partner stationery you've customized, a book, a love letter, or whatever else related to paper. It doesn't need to be expensive, just thoughtful. There's also a modern anniversary gift for every single year. For example, for the fourth anniversary, the present day gift is appliances, which could be a lot cheaper when compared to a pricey piece of technology. If you're enthusiastic about what these gifts are, here is a handy set of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I have ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I'm not even sure where it is. But what's the purpose of getting a movie made if you're not going to watch it? Your anniversary is a superb opportunity to keep in mind that special day, so take out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If there isn't one, perhaps you have a video of a holiday you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look through your wedding album or pictures that you have taken during your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you are feeling a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every single other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, such as a photo album or scrapbook of the previous year's events.
